Cambridge City Centre

Cambridge city centre would be the perfect setting for Wildgoose’s Spy School. Full of mystery, intrigue and many drinking establishments it is an amateur historian’s playground and a Pub Explorer’s paradise. It is home to many of Cambridge's famous landmarks, including the University of Cambridge, King's College Chapel, and the Fitzwilliam Museum. The city’s pedestrianised streets are also perfect for exploring on foot. King's Parade, which runs along the front of King's College, offers stunning views of the chapel and the river, while Trinity Street and St John's Street are lined with historic buildings and shops. There is also a lot of green space. Parker’s Piece is known for its cricket matches, while Jesus Green and Midsummer Common, both offer beautiful views of the River Cam. The city centre is a vibrant and bustling and there will be something for everyone on your team.

The Backs

If you are looking to get your team out of the hustle and bustle of the city centre then The Backs will offer you the tranquillity you need. Parkland and gardens which run along the backs of several famous colleges, the name comes from the fact that the backs of the colleges face the River Cam, and the gardens and lawns are situated on the opposite side of the river. If you are tackling The Ultimate, then The Backs is just east of the city centre, easy to reach and a great place to explore on foot. It also provides a picturesque setting, great for a walk and gathering those all-important photos as part of your team building challenge. One of the most famous landmarks on The Backs is the Mathematical Bridge, which connects the two sides of Queens College over the River Cam. The boathouses at The Backs are used by various college rowing teams who can often be seen practising on the river.

Mill Road

Mill Road has a bustling street life and cultural diversity making it the best spot for teams looking to take on the Urban Explorer. Its name gives a clue to its history as it was once the main route into Cambridge from the south, and was lined with mills and factories. Most are now shops and residential properties but the area has a lot of character and is a great idea for a pub crawl or treasure hunt. It is home to the Cambridge Buddhist Centre and the Cambridge Museum of Technology, and regularly comes to life through its community events and festivals which take place all year round. One of its most popular events is the Mill Road Winter Fair so if you are looking for a festive Trivia Challenge this could provide the ideal setting. The area is well connected to the rest of Cambridge, with regular bus services running to the city centre and surrounding areas.
