Discover why Chester reigns supreme for scavenger and treasure hunts!

Chester is an enchanting city offering a glimpse into history with its Roman and Medieval influences. It’s one of the prettiest cities in Europe, boasting an array of boutiques, cafes, restaurants, and offices. With a double-level shopping experience and covered walkways, the walled city is a fantastic alternative to the hustle and bustle of a larger city. Chester has undergone extensive regeneration in recent times, making it a popular choice for North West team building days. Plus, with plenty of pubs to explore, it's a great place to unwind. From smartphone tours to a range of other team activities, there's something for everyone in Chester.

The Chester Rows

The Chester Rows would provide a brilliant backdrop for our Spy School game as its architectural features lend themselves perfectly to mystery and intrigue. The series of covered walkways run along the first floors of many of the city's buildings and were originally built to provide a covered walkway for traders to display their goods, protect them from the elements and add more space to their shops. They have been used as meeting places for the city's guilds, as well as for socialising and entertainment, something a pub explorer might be interested in as they get to know the different drinking establishments in the area. The Chester Rows distinctive appearance comes from the local red sandstone which was used to build them and many of the shops have retained their original features of leaded windows and oak beams. Your team building event will no doubt feel lively if it takes place in The Rows but that will only add to the atmosphere and enjoyment of the day

Hoole

Hoole has undergone huge amounts of regeneration over the past few decades making it a desirable place for young professionals to visit. It’s buzzing nightlife is fuelled by bars and restaurants, making it a no brainer as a venue for the pub explorer team building challenge. Faulkner Street is lined with independent shops, cafes, restaurants, and bars and pubs which offer live music and entertainment. It has a popular Christmas market which would make the best location for a festive Trivia Challenge, or for the more active adults among your team there are plenty of green spaces to have a walk. There are good transport links, with regular bus services into the city centre and easy access to the motorway and railway station. If you are looking to hold a team building day in a vibrant area with a strong sense of community then Hoole has buckets of character and charm for the best day out

City Walls

The city walls that surround Chester city centre are a huge attraction for visitors and would make a great location for one of our team building events. You will find landmarks including Chester Cathedral, the Roman Amphitheatre and the Eastgate Clock within the city walls but if your urban explorers aren’t looking for a history lesson there are plenty of other things to see and do. It’s full of specialist shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants. Photo opportunities are abundant for any team taking on the pub explorer event. These can be personalised to your colleagues’ tastes whether they are being given direction by our remote host or have decided on the self-guided option. Many of Chester’s historic pubs date back to the 17th century so there is plenty of choice if your team decides to go on a pub crawl. Whether you are looking to shop, dine or simply soak up the atmosphere, there is something for everyone in this charming part of the city
