Activity: The Ultimate Challenge (by Wildgoose)

Format: In-Person with a Live Remote Host

Location: Paris, France (EMEA Region)

Objective: Office Team Building & Cross-Functional Integration

The Brief

As a rapidly scaling global platform, monday.com maintains a hub-and-spoke office model across EMEA, with its regional headquarters in London and vital satellite teams in key cities like Paris. To foster deeper connections within the Paris office, the company needed an engaging, out-of-the-box team-building experience. Building on a successful previous event in London, monday.com turned to Wildgoose once again to deliver The Ultimate Challenge. Guided by an energetic remote host, the Paris team broke out of their usual routines, bridged cultural gaps, and united through a series of high-energy photo, video, and trivia challenges.

The Challenge: Cultivating Culture in Satellite Offices

While monday.com prioritises a vibrant corporate culture with quarterly socials, international satellite teams require distinct attention to ensure local employees feel deeply connected to each other and the broader global brand.

When planning the Paris office event, organisers faced two primary hurdles:

  • Breaking Departmental Silos: Daily office routines can inadvertently lead to small, siloed team structures. The activity needed to intentionally mix colleagues who rarely collaborate.
  • The Cultural Translation Question: Because the activity was designed by a UK-based provider, there was an initial hesitation about whether the distinctly British humour and style of the game would fully resonate with a French workforce.

The Solution

To ensure a guaranteed win, monday.com selected The Ultimate Challenge — Wildgoose’s flagship app-based scavenger hunt and trivia showdown.

Overcoming the Cultural Barrier

Any reservations about cultural translation were instantly dispelled. The game proved entirely accessible, universally engaging, and highly adaptable. The French team fully leaned into the friendly competition, showing that high-energy teamwork transcends borders.

Dynamic Remote Hosting

A live remote host, Melissa, was beamed in to facilitate the session. She kicked off the event with an enthusiastic briefing, kept individual team energies high via the app throughout the gameplay, and managed the real-time leaderboard tracking.

Thoughtful Team Mixing

Participants were deliberately mixed into diverse teams of 4 to 6 people. This forced colleagues out of their comfort zones and encouraged them to collaborate, strategise, and rely on each other’s unique strengths to solve the 80 different interactive trivia and media missions.

The Results

The event concluded with an interactive wrap-up session over drinks, which quickly became the highlight of the day.

  • A Shared Media Legacy: During the debrief, the team gathered over cocktails to watch a recap of the hilarious video and photo challenge submissions they had generated on the streets of Paris.
  • Strengthened Office Cohesion: By intentionally mixing the teams, the event successfully formed new interpersonal bonds, revitalising the day-to-day office culture in Paris.
  • Proven Scalability: The event proved that Wildgoose’s activities are seamlessly repeatable across different countries and office sizes without losing their core impact or entertainment value.

Client Testimonial

Our EMEA headquarters are based in London, with smaller offices across Europe — Paris being one of them. We recently organised this event with team-building in mind, booking the Ultimate Challenge, which we’d previously run in London the year before, so we already knew what to expect.

It’s a fantastic activity for team bonding, particularly when you plan ahead and mix up the teams thoughtfully. For our Paris session, we opted for the remote host option — and Melissa was absolutely brilliant. Engaging, enthusiastic, and a natural at keeping energy high throughout.

I’ll admit I had slight reservations at the booking stage about whether the distinctly British humour of the game would land with our French colleagues, but those concerns were quickly put to rest. The game was completely accessible to everyone, and the team embraced every moment of it. Watching back all their video and photo challenge entries over cocktails at the debrief was genuinely hilarious!

A huge thank you to the Wildgoose team — we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!
