Q: How long does Charades last?

Q: What do we need to play Charades?

You’ll need access to a laptop or desktop computer with video conferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams etc). You can easily play Charades using your laptop or computer’s web browser but if you’d like to use a separate device to play the game, you’ll also need a smartphone or tablet with a stable internet connection and access to a web browser. Top tip: We recommend using a second device to play the game itself. Then, you can run your chosen video conferencing software on your laptop/computer and easily play the game on your phone or tablet without the need to switch tabs or screens.

Q: How does Charades work on the day?

Once all players have joined the virtual meeting, teams will be briefed by one of our Remote Hosts via a video conference call. Next, your group will be split off into breakout rooms to play the game. One of our Remote Hosts will be on standby throughout the activity to support teams, encourage communication and provide a fun virtual wrap-up at the end of the activity.

How It Works

Charades is an interactive activity hosted online using video conferencing software. Participants will need to have their cameras on to play. Participants will join the activity via a browser-based game platform on your desktop, phone or tablet.

How To Play Charades

Fun & Entertaining For All Teams

Once all players have joined the virtual meeting, your Remote Host will brief the game and split your group into breakout rooms. Players will then use the game code (given in the briefing) to join the game via web browser on their desktop, phone or tablet. Your team’s goal is to correctly guess as many words and phrases as possible in the given time. At the end of the game, all players will be brought back to the main room for a high-energy finale!

Act Out As Many Phrases As Possible!

Each breakout room will consist of 2 teams (up to 6 players each) competing against each other. As one team guesses, the other team will be able to see their word or phrase. This ensures everyone is having a good laugh and that no one is cheating! Each correct guess will gain points for your team. When a correct guess is submitted, a new word or phrase will appear on the screen. The team with the most points at the end wins!
