Heads in spreadsheets, balancing budgets, poring over accounts...finance departments are busy, busy places. That’s why they need to have some fun every once in a while – and get to know each other better as well. This is where Wildgoose team building activities come into play.

Give your money maestros a well-deserved distraction: we’ve come up with some ideas for team building activities for finance departments.
Urban exploring
Since Covid-19 hit, we’ve all spent way too much time stuck indoors, and while we’ve all enjoyed less commuting, perhaps we’ve missed meandering around parks and down high streets. Our Urban Explorer activity is a welcome chance to rediscover your favourite town or city, with mini-tasks, general knowledge questions and scavenger hunts.
Best of all, there’s a live scoreboard, to build up some more than friendly competition between your people. And there’s also a photo wall, for sharing photos of the action. All in all, the team are sure to have a great time out on the town.
Sheep and shepherd
Here’s a simple game that really tests communication skills – and your team’s sense of direction.
Appoint two shepherds from within the team and then blindfold everyone else. Those with blindfolds are the sheep and they need to go back into their pen, helped – hopefully – by the shepherds’ instructions. The team that gets the most sheep in the pen in the quickest time wins. It’s harder – and much louder and more confusing – than it sounds...
Online team quiz
Team building activities might be all about bringing people together, but there’s nothing wrong with a bit of rivalry! Everyone loves shouting answers at the screen when there’s a quiz on TV, and now they can do exactly the same at their computer screen.
Our fun-filled team quiz – for in-person and remote quizzers – combines trivia questions, creative challenges, picture rounds and lots more. You even get a charismatic quizmaster to run the show.
We don’t supply drinks or peanuts, but you can always add your own to turn it into a pub quiz in the comfort of your own office/home.
Chinese pictures
Line your team up and show the person on one end an image. Don’t be too cruel, but don’t make it too obvious either.
They then describe what they’ve seen to their neighbour and it goes down the line via word of mouth. The last person has to draw or paint what’s been described to them, which doesn’t usually look much like the first image at all! It’s just like Chinese whispers, but with an added arty challenge.
Virtual murder mystery
There’s been a murder! And you and your workmates are on the case, weighing suspects up, evaluating the evidence and getting to the bottom of this grisly crime. Taking place in the aptly named Cadaver Manor, this virtual murder mystery uses our award-winning app.
You’ll need great teamwork and all your powers of deduction to solve the case before the other teams do, because those office bragging rights are important...
