What are jury games and activities?
Jury games and activities are team events where players act out the role of jurors in an online trial. They review evidence and decide whether the defendant is guilty or not guilty. These games can be played online or in-person. Jury duty activities are often associated with virtual murder mystery team building activities or crime-solving games. Jury games are also known as ‘jury duty team building activities’, ‘courtroom games’ or ‘virtual jury duty experiences.’
How do we play jury duty games?
Our jury team building activities are easy and fun to play. Whether you’re playing remotely or in-person, all you need is a device with internet access (smartphone, tablet, laptop or computer) and your chosen video conferencing software. You’ll be briefed by one of our expert Remote Hosts (via video link) before dividing into teams where you’ll review the evidence and decide on a verdict.
Can we play jury games on Zoom?
Yes! In fact, we highly recommend using Zoom for our jury games (here’s why) but we can work with other platforms too (here’s how.)
How long do your jury duty games last?
Our jury team building activities last for 45 minutes in total, including a virtual briefing and wrap up from one of our experienced Remote Hosts. You can find game durations in the ‘How can this event be delivered?’ section on our individual game pages.
Are there live actors included in your jury games?
No, our jury duty team building activities are played online and do not feature any live actors. Alongside one of our experienced Remote Hosts, we use videos and digital evidence files (including images and audio) to set the scene and explain the case!
How do we get set-up?
We will provide you with step-by-step instructions ahead of your jury game experience. One of our Remote Hosts will also guide participants through your activity on the day. Simply ensure each player has a device with internet access and is ready to join the video conference (via Zoom or your chosen platform) for the Virtual Briefing. Everything else will be explained when you join us!
What device/s will I need?
Our jury games and activities can be played on any device (with internet access) however we recommend using a laptop or computer. You can find device information in the ‘How can this event be delivered?’ section on our individual game pages.
What’s the maximum team size?
We recommend 4-6 people per team. This ensures all our players (aka jurors) have a chance to examine the evidence and discuss their findings during the event. Keeping groups to this size is a key part of increasing team engagement.
